As Monster Scouts, players can recruit wild monsters to build a team and battle against other players in this turn-based role-playing game. Each year, monster scouts from around the world gather to compete for the title of world's greatest scout. Players crash-land on a mysterious island after their airship is struck by lightning. They must rescue their missing passengers and crew members by fighting various enemies using their own monster parties. The only way off the island is to solve its many mysteries.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart acts as a prequel to Dragon Quest 7 and was never released outside of Japan but there is a fan-translation patch. You play Kiefer from Dragon Quest VII who ends up in the world of Dragon Quest II. You can use a group of 3 people or monsters to fight but enemies can show up in larger numbers. There is a job system for human characters with 20 classes.

Pokémon Gold, along with Pokémon Silver, are the sequels to Pokémon Red and Blue. They offer 100 new Pokémon to capture and train, 8 more Gyms to take on and a new Pokémon League challenge. Pokémon White Version 2 and Pokémon Black Version 2 are the second and final paired versions of Generation V and are the sequels of Pokémon Black and White, respectively. Both games were revealed on Pokémon Smash! by Junichi Masuda, and subsequently the official Japanese and international Pokémon websites, on February 26, 2012. They were released in Japan on June 23, 2012, in North America on October 7, 2012, in Australia on October 11, 2012, in Europe on October 12, 2012 and in South Korea on November 8, 2012. The games feature two new forms of Kyurem that serve as the game mascots of the games: Black Kyurem for Black 2 and White Kyurem for White 2.

Pokemon Crystal is an enhanced version of Pokemon Gold and Silver and a role-playing game played from a top-down perspective. As in the earlier versions, the player explores the Johto region, catches and trains Pokemon, and battles other Trainers in turn-based combat while earning Gym Badges and filling out the Pokedex. Crystal keeps the same core adventure while adding refinements, including the option to play as a female character and animated Pokemon sprites. It retains series staples such as a real-time clock, Pokemon breeding, and trading and battling with other games via a link connection.
