Pokémon Prism is a super customized Pokémon Crystal mod that takes place in a previously unexplored region. It contains new mechanics unseen in its inspired franchise, while refining existing gameplay. Boasting an expansive landscape to adventure in filled with unique challenges, fresh areas to explore, and new ways to play, Pokémon Prism is an entirely new experience that gamers of all ages are sure to enjoy! Pokémon Prism was planned to be released on December 25, 2016. It was cancelled several days prior to release, on December 21, following a cease and desist by Nintendo in which all the developer's ROM hacks were pulled offline, but later leaked onto the Internet.

Originally released in the early 2000s, Pokémon Brown completely replaces Kanto with a brand new region (called Rijon), complete with its own story, trainers, gym leaders, Pokémon distribution and new elemental types. Early versions only included the first 151 Pokémon, but later editions include a vastly expanded Pokédex (up to Generation IV, with a certain special Generation VI guest star) and other features such as an expanded type chart, additional dungeons and the ability to interact with Generation II games with a patch. You can even travel all the way to Johto!

Pokemon Stranded departs from traditional Pokemon games in a number of ways. To begin with, there are no Gyms or traditional Pokemon Trainers, no badges, no Pokemon Centers or Marts, and so forth. In addition, the game’s main story will be relatively short and straightforward, but there will be thousands of side stories to follow along the way. The majority of game updates will focus on adding new side quests.

Crystal Clear is an open-world Pokémon Crystal ROM hack. The game's gimmick is that Pokémon Crystal has been transformed into an open-world game with a scaling system, with various paths open to allow traversal between the two regions without story barriers or TM requirements. Players can choose between 30 different starters, ranging from the first two starter trios plus Pikachu, baby Pokémon, and challenge starters like Unown or Smeargle. They are also able to choose between different trainer designs and choose their initial starting town. Gym Battles are scaled based on previous badges, meaning that Gyms always match the player's overall progress, no matter the order.

As the name implies, this rom tries to adapt the history and region of the original pokemon sword and shield games to gba with characters, events and even systems.
