The Scenario mode features Arle Nadja, protagonist of the Madou Monogatari series. She has learned a spell known as Owanimo, which converts four or more similarly-colored creatures into pure energy. She plans to use this spell to defeat Satan, but must first battle twelve other opponents.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is the first title in the series to be released on a handheld system and the only Zelda title on the original Game Boy. The gameplay is mostly similar to its predecessor with a top-down perspective, however there are short sections in dungeons where the game switches to a side-scrolling view with platforming elements. For this new adventure, Link must go onto each of the 7 temples to retrieve a musical instrument that will help awaken the Wind Fish. Along the way, he must search the land and uncover hidden treasures and items that will allow him to progress on his journey. Since its release, Link's Awakening has been popular among fans and critics.

In a land far away, the two princes—Richard (of the Custard Kingdom) and the game's main protagonist (prince of the Sablé Kingdom)—have shared a friendly rivalry since they were small children. They often compete, although it usually ends in a tie or close win. In Fencing however, Prince Richard is always the victor. One day a messenger arrives from a small neighboring kingdom, warning the princes that the evil King Delarin has invaded the Mille-Feuille Kingdom and captured the beautiful princess Tiramisu. In yet another boastful attempt to best the Sablé Prince, Richard grabs a boat and rushes towards the kingdom. The Sablé Prince is left trying to catch up. While on his journey, he and Richard (and many others) are transformed into frogs in an attempt to reveal the true happenings in this kingdom. The game and its characters were mentioned many times in the Super Smash Bros. series as trophies, stickers, spirits and as the Assist Trophy of the Sablé Prince. In these series, the game was officially romanized as "Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru".

A council of 12 sorcerers ensured peace in Kal Torin. One member of the council began to practice the black arts and spread destruction throughout the land; he became know as the Warlock Lord. Fortunately, the others were able to defeat the Warlock Lord and imprison him beneath Shadowgate Castle. Now, he has escaped from his prison and rules Shadowgate Castle. Furthermore, he is threatening to summon the Behemoth, a creature so powerful it could destroy the world. As the last member of the forgotten royal family, you are the only one who can stop the Warlock Lord and save Kal Torin. The trek through Shadowgate castle will not be easy, and will require strength of mind and body. Will you be able to stop the Warlock Lord in SHADOWGATE CLASSIC?
