After stopping the revival of a demon god at the Magic Castle of the Desert, Shiren and Koppa set off in search of new adventures. Soon thereafter, our heroes wandered into small village. This village, Inori, has a legend that claims, “If you climb the Tower of Fortune that soars above the enchanted land and face Reeva, the god of Destiny, you can change your fate.” Shiren and Koppa, having confirmed many mysterious legends throughout their journeys, decide to embrace this new challenge. The challenge that awaits Shiren and his friends will challenge is the “Mysterious Dungeon”. It is a dungeon that changes its layout as well as the item and monster placement on subsequent replays. From formidable monsters to dangerous traps, players will learn to overcome the various obstacles that stand in opposition to Shiren. This title also boasts a variety of additional new dungeons! The Legend of Dragoon is a Japanese-style RPG, visually reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII (pre-rendered backgrounds, 3D characters and battle scenes, CG animations to advance the story). Battle mechanics follow the traditional turn-based prototype, with a few additions such as critical attacks dependent on precise timing, and "dragoon" transformations, which allow access to powerful techniques. Game progression is largely linear, with the "world map" replaced by locations represented as connected dots.

This direct sequel to "Arc the Lad" continues the unfinished story of the first game, but starts from a totally different perspective. You control a bounty-hunter named Elk, who suffers from amnesia. On his quest for his own true identity he discovers the powers hidden within him, and the destiny of his entire tribe. While pursuing his archenemy, Elk meets up with Arc, the hero of the first game, and then both realize they have been looking to destroy the very same evil. The battle system of "Arc the Lad II" is similar to the one used in its predecessor: in battles you can move your characters on the battle field, and your proximity to the enemies plays an important role. You cause and take different amounts of damage depending on your position on the battle field. Unlike the first game, this one is a full-fledged adventure/RPG, without the "strategy" feel of the predecessor. You move through the game world on your own, visiting towns and exploring dungeons.
