Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix2000

Dance Dance Revolution 5thMIX, or DDR 5th Mix, is the 5th game in the Dance Dance Revolution series of music video games. It was released to the arcades by Konami on March 27, 2001. Although only officially released in Japan, units exist worldwide. DDR 5th Mix contains a total of 122 songs, nine of which are hidden and unlockable. Of those songs, 40 of them (including all nine unlockable songs) are brand new to Dance Dance Revolution.

Turn this up! America is jamming with Dance Dance Revolution: Konamix. The arcade phenomenon of out-voguing everybody on the dance floor with your smooth moves comes home to the PlayStation. The game includes solid grooves from Japan's dance sensation and you can shake it down to 28 popping tracks pulled from Konami's all-time best Dance Mania tracks. Move it wild to slightly J-Pop and throw down fierce to some manic techno. And to get the best of it all, throw a party with a few rounds of 2-player Dance Dance dance-offs! Plus, with the special Dance Pad (available with the Dance Dance Revolution Dance Pad set), you can get your friends and neighbors on the floor and down on their feet just like in the arcade. Turn that beat and show off how you like to move it! The home version of 4thMix was released in Japan on March 15, 2001, for the Sony PlayStation console. It contains 55 songs, including 3 from Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix (which were not present in the home version of that version) and six hidden songs: one from 4thMix Plus and one as preview songs for the next arcade version, Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix. The game also features the 6-panel mode, branded as Solo Mode. The game engine and menus have also been used in two North American versions of DDR, Dance Dance Revolution for the PC, and Dance Dance Revolution Konamix. Konamix was the only American version to feature Solo Mode.

Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix Plus is an upgrade of 4thMix, released on December 28, 2000. It adds fourteen new songs not seen in any previous DDR version. Several older songs have received new Maniac step sets, with the old steps being moved to "Maniac-S" (for Single) or "Maniac-D" (for Double). The new steps are generally much harder than before, and are used as the default Maniac steps in Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix. The old step sets have been restored for songs included in DDRMAX2 Dance Dance Revolution 7thMix, and certain 4thMix Plus steps return as Challenge steps in Dance Dance Revolution Extreme. An all music mode feature is included for Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix Plus where players have access to all songs in the game instead of picking music genres

Two versions of Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix were released in South Korea in March 2000. It is exactly like the original version of 3rd Mix, except that it fixes the Shuffle bug and adds seven Korean pop songs and one from the original to 3rdMix and SSR modes An update to this version, Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix verKorea2 was also released in South Korea in March 2000, adding 9 more K-Pop songs. The songs missing in the Asian version is still absent in this game, however. The exclusive songs from the first Korean version would be added to the Japanese version with the 3rdMix Plus update. However, due to censorship, Charmy now wears stockings. And OH NICK PLEASE NOT SO QUICK's graphics were also censored.

Dancing Stage EuroMix is the 2nd release of the Dancing Stage series, the European version of Dance Dance Revolution series of music video games by Konami. The arcade version was released in 1999, followed by the Sony PlayStation version in 2001. An updated "Internet Ranking" version of the arcade machine was released later on, containing 6 new tracks (as advertised by a sticker on the game's name banner). To date, Dancing Stage EuroMIX is one of only two European home versions of the Dancing Stage franchise to coincide with an arcade game, the 2nd one being Dancing Stage Supernova. The game is based on the same interface and engine as the Japanese game Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix, except with a songlist that is a cut-down hybrid of Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix and Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix's songlists, with the addition of 8 European-exclusive songs (28 tracks and can be expanded to a total of 34 tracks with Internet Ranking enabled). Unlike Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix, the home version of Dancing Stage EuroMIX does not feature "Edit Mode" and does not use a PC Card., a feature in which the player can create their own custom routines to songs featured in the game. This also means that the arcade version does not feature PlayStation-compatible memory card slots. The game's console port was released for PlayStation on June 1, 2001 and contains 24 songs. It removes the Dancemania licenses and all but one song added in the Internet Ranking version, but adds five Konami Original songs.

Dance Dance Revolution Solo 4thMix and Dance Dance Revolution Solo 4thMix Plus were released concurrently with 4thMix and 4thMix Plus respectively, designed for use with Solo cabinets. The changes in the actual game engine are few, but significant. The 4 and 6-panel modes are offered instead of the usual options, and the chubby arrows of the Solo series also appear. Multi-player Mode from the Solo series is not present in either game. An ALL MUSIC MODE feature is included for Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix Plus where players have access to all songs in the game instead of picking music genres.

International variants of Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix include Dancing Stage EuroMix and Dance Dance Revolution USA. USA was released in North American arcades in October 2000. It has a reduced song list of 26 songs: six licenses and 20 Konami Originals. USA shares four licenses and 15 Konami Originals in common, including two 3rdMix Plus tracks: "Love This Feelin'" and "TRIP MACHINE ～luv mix～". The music of Dance Dance Revolution USA mimics the music of its sister release, Dancing Stage EuroMix, quite a bit. While it's not the same selection of songs it shares the theme of bringing North America up to speed with Japanese releases of the time and the music that was first made available there.
