The Great Gatsby is a platform game inspired by the 1925 novel of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Loosely borrowing characters and locations from the original story, players guide Nick Carraway through four main levels. The game is jokingly said to be a localized, unreleased port of the Japanese NES game Doki Doki Toshokan: Gatsby no Monogatari and the developers even made up fake advertisements, credits and a cartridge photo. It is however an entirely original browser game created to resemble a NES platformer from the 8-bit era.
Starting at Gatsby's party in his mansion, Nick then travels over a moving train to New York and finally West Egg Beach. Controls are very basic: the character can jump and throw his hat to take out enemies such as butlers, thugs, crabs, birds and alligators. Meanwhile he can collect coins and items such as drinks for points. After a certain number of points a new life is granted. Nick has three lives and three health points per life. He can also pick up a yellow hat. This changes his costume and allows him to throw his hat farther. There are short conversations with characters, some bosses and animated cut-scenes between levels.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the first Harry Potter video game for the PlayStation, and one of several different games based on the book and movie. This version is a three-dimensional action adventure, where Harry must complete a number of challenges in order to pass his first year of studies at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Successful completion of the tasks often results in house points for Harry's house Gryffindor and failure in some deducts points, so the race for the House Cup can stay open until the end.

Jungle Hunt is side-scrolling arcade game produced and released by Taito in 1982. It was initially released as Jungle King. Jungle Hunt is one of the first video games to use parallax scrolling. The player controls an unnamed jungle explorer sporting a pith helmet and a safari suit. The player attempts to rescue his girl from a tribe of hungry cannibals by swinging from vine to vine, swimming a crocodile-infested river, jumping over or ducking beneath rolling rocks, then releasing the girl before she is lowered into a boiling cauldron. Home versions were released for the Apple II, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit family, Commodore 64, ColecoVision, VIC-20, and IBM PC. The PC version was developed by Sierra On-Line and is incompatible with everything except an original IBM PC/XT with a CGA video card. In the Atari-ported versions the hero is named Sir Dudley, and the girl, married to Sir Dudley, is Lady Penelope.

First, it was a beloved book, then it was an animated special, next it was a movie, and now Dr. Seuss' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS is a hand-held video game. You play both the Grinch and his faithful pooch, Max, in this creative adaptation. Much like the classic story, THE GRINCH takes place in the idyllic Whoville--where your aim is to cease the event called Christmas. You attempt to do so by wreaking havoc and solving challenging puzzles. The folks of Whoville will try to stop your efforts with love and happiness (blech!), so be on your toes if you hope to avoid them and effectively ruin the holiday. To make things a little easier, you can throw snowballs at the peacenik villagers to keep them at a distance. Each level will present new obstacles and challenges, and the Dr. Seuss world is faithfully translated to the video game format. Whether you're a genuine grouch or you're just in the mood for a great adventure, THE GRINCH is hilarious fun for everyone.

Journey through as Geppetto, the carpenter's live wooden puppet, Pinocchio, as he did in his Disney animated film - which itself was based on a children's novel. Have Pinocchio run, jump and twist-kick through all the familiar places, including the inside of a whale, and do good deeds enough to become the real human boy he's always wanted to be.

Noah has been commanded by God to put two of each animal aboard his ark to save them from the flood. However unhappy people from around the world have captured different animal species, preventing Noah from doing his job. Noah will need to visit these different locations and free the animals from the people holding them captive.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a platformer game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989. The storyline does not directly portray the book written by Mark Twain. However, the characters in the game are the same as in the book. Control in this typical platform game consists of jumping and throwing rocks. Players must avoid many obstacles, such as rolling barrels, and defeat persistent enemies, such as pirates, mice, and even a giant octopus. The level order has been changed in the English version (perhaps to avoid confusing players by starting with the rafting stage). The Japanese original's level 5, the pirate ship, is the English version's level 1, making the beginning of the game much more difficult and the plot non-cohesive.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a 1988 side-scrolling action video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System loosely based on the novel Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Gameplay alternates between the characters of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde based on the player's ability to either avoid or cause damage.
