You are a young boy who is going to study three years at the Kirameki High School in Japan. Your goal is to win the affection of one (and possibly more) of the twelve beautiful girls who also study with you, especially of Shiori, with whom you were in love some years ago. This is a simulation game with a high-developed statistics system. You have to increase your statistics in different disciplines, depending on the girl you are interested in. You communicate with people via your telephone, and date girls by going with them to various places. You have to keep your promises, otherwise a girl will become angry and even tell bad things about you to other girls, which will spoil your reputation.

Evergreen Avenue is a Visual Novel released on PlayStation in 2001. Choosing either a male (Catan) or female (Ira) character, you must help each of the seven spirits learn the ways of human life by scheduling sessions with them each week and playing mini-games to determine your effectiveness. Events will pop up from time to time, where you have personal conversations with the various spirits or with your rival. At the end of each month, you are graded in comparison with your rival, and you must sufficiently educate the spirits by the time six months have passed.

The Tokimeki Memorial 2 EVS Append Disc was published on three additional discs for Tokimeki Memorial 2 to allow the game's EVS (Emotional Voice System) to be available for the different girls. The EVS is a system that allows the girls to actually pronounce the protagonist's name. Only two of the girls, Hikari Hinamoto and Kasumi Asou, have EVS in the base game, and the append discs contain the voices for all the others, except Maeka Kudanshita who never uses the protagonist's name. The protagonist sets up his school's festival with the help of his classmates. He's able to get closer to them, and will obtain eventually a love ending (if it's with a girl) or a friendship ending (if it's with a boy).

The game begins at the beginning of august when Kimi is a young student receive a call from her father telling her to return to home in 21 days. So she decided to enjoy those days having fun with her classmate friend. They will go around the town and meet different people. Everytime that the game is played the personality of the people changed making each time a different experience for the player. The game features 11 different main characters to interact.
