

Batman: Return of the Joker was developed and published by Sunsoft as the second in their Batman series on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It departed from the original game by focusing on the comic-book version of Batman instead of the movie-inspired conception. The story itself was self-contained, and did not depict a pre-existing storyline. The game is a side-scrolling platformer with beat 'em up features.
The story begins with the escape of the Joker from an insane asylum. As always, Joker attempts to corrupt Gotham City and put it into chaos. Batman, after defeating a number of different henchmen, must bring Joker to justice.

Operating out of the top secret Batcave, you'll use smoke bombs, Batarangs, x-ray goggles and all the weapons your utility belt can hold as you swing across rooftops and dash through dark alleys, tracking down the elusive Catwoman. You'll try to put a stop to Two-Face as you race through the streets in the Batmobile. You'll enlist the aid of Robin to put The Penguin out of business. You can't relax though, because Scarecrow, The Joker, Poison Ivy, Clayface and their motley crews will crush you and take control of Gotham City!

X-Men: Mutant Academy is a 3-D/2D fighting game developed by Paradox, the company behind Activision's Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style and the never-published Thrill Kill, and based on the X-Men characters from Marvel Comics. The game was released for the Game Boy Color and PlayStation as a tie-in to X-Men. X-Men: Mutant Academy is a basic fighting game that uses six buttons: three buttons for punches and three for kicks. Due to the success of the game, it was followed by two sequels: X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 and X-Men: Next Dimension. The game's characters can be played both with their comic book costumes and their costumes from the 2000 film X-Men. Characters not present in the film were given costumes of a similar design.
