Double Switch is a "trap-'em-up" game very similar to Night Trap in gameplay and visual presentation. The player has to manipulate cameras to avoid or set traps, affecting the course of the storyline which is represented by live action movie sequences.

In Dracula Unleashed it is the year 1899, ten years after the destruction of count Dracula chronicled in Bram Stoker's novel. You take the role of Alexander Morris, the younger brother of Texan Quincey Morris who died defeating Dracula. The gameplay environment consists of polygonal 3D characters placed over pre-rendered 2D backgrounds. As such, the game relies on pre-determined camera angles for a view of the action instead of a real-time camera like most games. The game is credited for coining the phrase "survival horror" and popularizing the genre.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is the fourth installment in the survival horror video game series Alone in the Dark. The player can choose which of the two protagonists to play as. Carnby’s side of the plot focuses mainly on fighting monsters through physical means, while Aline’s is more centered on puzzle-solving. The two occasionally meet, and the main plot areas intersect.

The Game Boy Color version of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare received a relatively faithful adaptation of the home console game. The cartridge-based format necessitated the removal of the full-motion video cutscenes present in other versions, and many gameplay areas had to be reduced in size, with some eliminated entirely. However, the basic pre-rendered environments and the 3D characters imposed on top of them remain.
