After a prince is taken hostage by Blackball, a mutant weapons genius, Madison (the blonde on the right) and Crystal (the brunette on the left) fight through Blackball's domain on hoverpacks to rescue him. Madison will always shoot to the right. Crystal has more firepower, and she can shoot either left or right, left in order to take care of enemies approaching from behind, or right in order to deal more damage. At the beginning of each stage, you can also choose between four different special weapons. Lightning Storm shoots electricity at random, Tidal Wave is a line of vertical energy that you can control, Blizzard sends circles of energy spiraling outward from you, and Avalanche is a wall of missiles. When King Frederick's only son and heir to the throne is kidnapped by Blackball, the mutant military weapons genius, an international disaster seems imminent. Colonel Patch quickly contacts the "Trouble Shooter" team to find Prince Eldon and destroy Blackball and his treacherous robotic underworld. Madison and her faithful sidekick, Crystal, go through five stages of fearful creatures in their adventure throughout Blackball's domain. Will Prince Eldon survive? Can Madison destroy Blackball? Will the girls emerge from Blackball's evil empire safely? Only time will tell...

Silhouette Mirage is a side-scrolling action game. The basic gameplay is somewhat similar to that of Gunstar Heroes. The game's standout feature is the concept of the two attributes. Depending on the enemy's attributes and the type of attack used by Shyna, damage can be increased, and spirit (equivalent to magic power) can be absorbed from enemies. Shyna can dash, jump, crouch, slide, and grab enemies, executing combo attacks. It is also possible to master moves, acquire money, and purchase special creatures called "parasites", which teach Shyna various types of attacks.

Keio Flying Squadron 2 was released in 1996 for the Sega Saturn in Japan, Europe, and Australia. The second installment of the series continues the story of Rami's adventures as the Keeper of the Secret Treasure (a sphere passed down through generations of Rami's family). Rami races Dr. Pon and a new rival Himiko Yamatai for an ancient treasure that can be unlocked with six spheres. Two of the stages retain the shoot-'em-up style of the first game, but the lesser dragons can be obtained as bonuses only. Mainly the stages consist of sidescroling platformer stages. These scroll from right to left on the Japanese version and left to right on all other versions. Several bonuses can be collected including three weapons (Rami can also bounce on the heads of enemies to defeat them): A large mallet, used only for hitting enemies An umbrella, used to hit enemies, float and deflect overhead obstacles A bow, used to shoot arrows at enemies. Besides the platformer and shoot-'em-up stages, there is vertically scrolling special stages, an underwater stage and a rollercoaster stage, making the game a multi-genre platformer. Points spheres can be collected throughout the game. A reward system accessed from the main menu unlocked helpful hints and behind-the-scenes extras depending on the highest and lowest scores achieved through playing.
