John Elway's Quarterback1989

RealSports Football is a 1982 football video game made by Atari for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200 and Atari 8-bit computer platforms. RealSports Football presents a greatly simplified version of football for play. Players in the game cannot go out of bounds or fumble the football, and there are no penalties in the game. Also, touchdowns automatically score 7 points; there is no kicking for extra points.

NFL Blitz takes the idea of a normal football video game and turns it on its head with fewer players, bigger hits, and lots of personality.

J-League Prime Goal EX is one of the first football games in Sony's console, following previous appearances in the SNES, Prime Goal is a straightforward action game with simple arcade controls. While the Japanese version features all 14 J-League teams and fully licensed players, the European version features the same number of national teams with fictional players, all from Europe. Game modes include friendly match, league and cup knockout modes, as well as an all-star game where the player chooses his stars from the best in the selected zone. Graphically, the game uses a polygonal playing field, while players are represented using sprites, and gameplay features a combination of the face buttons to perform actions (passing, lobbing, shooting, tackling and so on) with shoulder buttons to add swerve to the ball, change team tactics on the fly or pushing the camera backwards to find an open team mate. While gameplay is fast and simple, it has three quirks: first, unlike most modern offerings, the AI does not set up the target players for passes and crosses, making the player control the target player as soon as the ball is released in order to place them in the best position to complete the play, and also unlike most other games, the players are able to run freely off-bounds, allowing the player to capture a free ball close to the touchlines without risking touching it for a throw-in. The final main gameplay feature can be seen when the ball carrier faces a defender, as the camera quickly changes to behind the forward, as he tries to trick the defender into going the wrong way as the defender tries to steal the ball by predicting where will the forward move, with the winner of the challenge being able to run a few meters unopposed. League.

RealSports Soccer is Atari's second attempt at a soccer game for the Atari 2600. You can choose from one of 12 different games, and play either solo or against a friend as you pass and shoot your way to victory (or defeat). Each team has three players with a specific area of the field to cover. A game lasts five or nine minutes and can be played on one of three difficulty levels, with each increasing the speed of gameplay and skill of the computer players.

This update of the John Madden football series offers several new features over its predecessor: instant replays, different weather conditions, player injuries and the ability to review and overturn pass interference calls. Play modes include Pre-Season, Regular Season, Playoffs and Sudden Death. There are 28 teams plus one All-Madden team.

Atari Soccer is, as the naming implies, a soccer arcade game that was released by Atari in 1980; it utilizes a Motorola M6502 (running at 750 KHz), and the players must use a trackball to take control of a player (two on each team, and if there are only two players, the CPU shall fill in for 3P and 4P), with two buttons for kicking the ball with their left and right feet. The human-controlled players will be indicated by the "squares" (1P and 3P) and "crosses" (2P and 4P) upon their heads - and just like in real association football, whoever has the most goals when the timer has run out wins the game. 1P and 2P's team is black, and 3P and 4P's team is white; and as with the four-player version of Atari's earlier American football game, one credit buys a two-player game and two buy a four-player game.
