Tavern Farkle GB is a push-your-luck dice game for the Game Boy. Roll six dice, bank your points or risk it all. Play a quick match against a random villager, or take on six opponents in a row, ending with Lucifer himself and his wild Devil's Die.
Tavern Farkle GB brings the old dice game to the Game Boy. Roll six dice, set aside what scores, and decide: bank thy points and walk away safe, or push thy luck for one more roll. A single match takes minutes, which makes it dangerously easy to just play one more. Two ways to play. In Quick Match, pick a goal and face a random villager, a Peasant, Baker, Miller, Smith, or Knight, each with a playstyle that changes from match to match. In the Devil's Dice Tournament, thou'lt face six opponents in a row, Baldric the wily bard, Gertrude the grim-gambler, Martin McPie, Henry the sword seeker, Brunhild the dice valkyrie, and finally Lucifer himself, each carrying their own Devil's Die to swing a roll their way. Lose once, and the tournament starts anew.

Battle Chess was developed by Interplay as their first project after severing ties with Electronic Arts. They designed it for the Amiga in 1988, and it was released on the majority of the other systems in the late 1980s and early 1990s as well. It was widely successful, and resulted in two follow-ups, many copy-cat games, and a remake for Steam on PC. The only significant criticism the game received was the weak chess AI, as it was not until the mid 1990s that chess ai began to consistently win against strong opponents.

The player controls a Heian period police officer who must defend the capital city from an alien invasion by digging holes in the ground and filling them back up after an alien falls inside. The player scores points for every alien trapped, and the quicker the hole is filled up after the alien falls in, the higher the number of points are scored. The aliens increase in number as the levels progress, and they can escape from holes after a certain period of time elapses or if another alien passes above their hole. The player loses if he comes in contact with an alien. There is a time limit for each level, and the number of aliens increases drastically when this limit is reached, essentially preventing the player from completing the level.

The main object of this history-based simulation board game is to control as many battle positions as possible. Procurement of all necessary resources is ultimately determined by a roll of the dice. Use the resources allotted to you to build roads and castles, or to strengthen your military. Instead of a good war strategy, your management of resources is what actually determines whether you win or lose.
