Notable solely for being "That Fighting Game with Izuna and Shino in it", Windy X Windam is a Nintendo DS Fighting Game by Ninja Studio starring (or "co-starring", if you prefer) seven fighters from a remote island kingdom called Gawain, a place where people empowered with devices called "Windies" are given the ability to fly. They, along with a mysterious "eighth" malefactor, have assembled for a tournament, wherein the winner will have his/her one greatest wish granted. Aside from the flight and special attacks granted by their devices, the fighters also have the ability to transform (for a very brief period of time) into a more powerful form.
In the kingdom of Gawain, people have the ability to fly using a special force called "Windies." These Windies also grant fighters special powers to use in battle. The dual screens of the DS extend the battle arena into the air as players can fly to the top screen and take the battle to the sky. Aside from the standard punch, kick and throw commands found in most fighting games, players also have powerful "Ultimate techniques" which, when fully charged, unleash a fierce attack on the opponent.

An arcade fighting game spin-off of an RPG series set in a fantasized feudal Japan. Known for its similarities with early Samurai Shodown games (including random item drops and combining attack buttons for heavier attacks), it is the only game in the entire series to get a release outside of Japan. The main series is composed of three separate games within the land of 'Jipang' (a fictionalized version of feudal Japan), each of which follows a descendant of the 'Fire Clan' and supporting cast in battles against a range of often comical villains. The stories of the games, though primarily of 'fantasy' fare, also attempt to provide commentary on common misconceptions about Japanese culture by Western societies.
